David grew up in the Magic Valley — the 9th of 12 children on a farm in Buhl, where hard work wasn’t optional.
That upbringing shaped who he is today: someone who shows up fully, puts in the work, and never stops looking for a better way.
He’s always seen himself as the underdog — and he’s carried that mindset with him ever since.
After earning his Associate’s degree from the College of Southern Idaho, his Bachelor’s from Idaho State University, and his Master’s in Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University in 1998, David built his career one step at a time — earning every opportunity through persistence, hard work, and a refusal to settle. Early in his career, when the opportunity arose, he made the decision to take full responsibility for outcomes and build something better.
David founded Body Balance Physical Therapy in 2003 with a clear belief: patients deserve better. They deserve care led by a therapist actively guiding their treatment throughout each visit, with attention focused on their individual needs, real answers, and results they can feel. His philosophy is simple — if a patient isn’t improving, you don’t wait… you go to work. You study, adjust, and find a better way. He believes deeply in physical therapy — and in its ability to help people avoid unnecessary medications, injections, and surgeries. His clinical specialties include orthopedic spine and extremity care, advanced shoulder rehabilitation, and vestibular therapy for dizziness and balance disorders. His brand promise — there is a difference you can feel — isn’t a slogan. It’s a daily standard.
Today, David serves as Founder and Chair of the Board. He is passionate about developing the next generation of therapists and leaders, and is committed to creating a clearer path for others to grow, lead, and thrive. He often describes business as “the Great Game of Business” — a game of learning, growth, and teamwork — and is driven to help his team create opportunity and build something meaningful together.
Outside the clinic, David is a husband to Amy, dad to five, a grandfather, and someone who will absolutely tell you a great story about backpacking, skiing, or wakesurfing — though he’ll admit his kids have long since bested him on that last one. He enjoys taking advantage of everything the Magic Valley has to offer, from the outdoors to time with family.
He’s proud to serve the community that raised him — and remains driven to help people Move More, Live More, and get back to what matters most.
Come meet David and the Body Balance team — and experience the difference for yourself.
